We discovered that identity is not something we earn; it is something we receive. It is not fragile; it is rooted. It is not changing; it is anchored in the eternal purposes of God. But now we turn a corner, because identity is never meant to be the destination. It is meant to be the foundation. Identity is not the finish line—it is the starting gate. And now that we know who we are in Messiah, we step into the next essential revelation: identity becomes calling.

The Word Became Flesh: The Perfect Image Revealed

When humanity lost its reflection of the divine, the world grew dim. The image of God — once radiant in mankind — became blurred by sin and separation. Yet God’s purpose never changed. From the beginning, His desire was to dwell among His creation and reveal Himself fully. And in the fullness of time, that eternal plan was fulfilled: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).

The Fall: When Identity Was Lost

In the beginning, humanity walked in perfect harmony with God — clothed in His glory, at peace with His creation, and secure in His image. Adam and Eve knew who they were because they knew the One who formed them. There was no striving, no insecurity, no question of worth. Their identity flowed from unbroken fellowship with their Creator.

Elul — The bridal summons!

If Elul begins with intimacy, it culminates in readiness. The sound of the shofar throughout this month is not just a wake-up call — it is a bridal summons. It is the voice of the Bridegroom calling His Bride to prepare for the wedding feast of the Lamb. John’s vision in Revelation declares: “Let us rejoice and exult and give Him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His Bride has made herself ready” (Revelation 19:7).
