Beware of the explosion!

Yesterday, Mount Sinabung blew its top yesterday in Indonesia and a column of ash was blasted nearly five miles into the sky.  It's a reminder of how volatile Indonesia can be as it has nearly 130 active volcanoes.  All of this volcanic activity reminded me of another explosion that took place in 1991.

One of my favorite passages in the Scriptures is Psalm 1, and clearly this psalm holds an important key for our lives as believers to be fruitful and prosperous. That key is meditation. The psalmist describes the one who prospers as one who meditates "day and night"; a continual meditation developing the Godly habit of disciplining one’s mind in divine truth.

Do you remember when phones were for phone calls?

When I was growing up in the 1980's we had a rotary dial phone. You put your finger in a numbered spot on a circular dialer which clicked as it returned to its place and registered the 7 or 10 numbers you selected. It took a full 10 to 20 seconds to complete a call and was really annoying if the number had a lot of 8s or 9s! Then came touch-tone phones...
