Alive for the Harvest: Seeing the Wheat in the midst of the weeds!

We are in the midst of the harvest of the world, and the Spirit is calling His people to see this hour with clarity. In the days of Yeshua (Jesus), the entire world held only a few hundred million souls. By AD 1000, the number had barely moved, and even by 1800, humanity had only just approached one billion. As recently as 1970 — just over fifty years ago — the global population was only about 3.7 billion. But today, the world’s population exceeds 8 billion. This is not merely a demographic statistic — it is a harvest reality. Never in human history has there been such a concentration of eternal souls alive at one time. Never has the gospel had such reach. Never has the field been this full.

The Evidence of the Harvest!

The transition from wilderness to promise began with instruction. The Lord told Moses, “Send men to spy out the land… which I am giving to the children of Israel.” The language matters. God did not say, “See if you can take it.” He said, “See what I am giving.” The promise was declared before it was explored. The spies were not sent to evaluate the possibility, but to witness the provision.

Don’t just be informed, be transformed!

I am beginning a new series centered on the Exodus — not to revisit ancient history, but to learn the lessons that determine whether a redeemed people actually enter the promises of God or spend their lives wandering just short of them. This journey starts where Paul starts: with a warning, not a celebration. He says, “I do not want you to be unaware.” Ignorance was not Israel’s problem. They were immersed in evidence of God’s power. They saw the cloud. They crossed the sea. They experienced deliverance firsthand. Yet experience did not produce maturity, and proximity to God did not produce obedience.

The Wave Offering: The Sheaf and the Savior!

On the Feast of Bikkurim (Firstfruits), the priest would lift the first sheaf of the barley harvest and wave it before the Lord “to be accepted on your behalf” (Leviticus 23:11). It was a sacred act — a declaration that the first belonged to God and that the rest of the harvest would be blessed because of it.

The Appointed Day: The Feast of Bikkurim and the Promise of Resurrection!

In the divine calendar of God’s appointed times, Bikkurim (Firstfruits) holds a mystery that stretches from the fields of Israel to the empty tomb in Jerusalem. This feast was celebrated “on the day after the Sabbath” following Passover (Leviticus 23:11) — what we now see as the eighth day, the day of new creation. While the nation of Israel brought their first sheaf of barley to the priest to be lifted before the Lord, giving thanks for the beginning of the harvest, something eternal was taking place beyond the veil of time: Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah rose from the grave.

The Ingathering: The Harvest of Nations!

As Israel gathered the last fruits of the year — the grapes, the olives, the wheat — they came to Jerusalem rejoicing. The barns were full, the threshing floors overflowed, and the air was filled with the laughter of thanksgiving. Sukkot (Tabernacles) was more than a festival; it was a celebration of completion — a picture of the final ingathering of all things under God’s reign.
