Be completely broken!

Mark 14:3 And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.

This is the touching story of how Yeshua (Jesus) was anointed before His crucifixion. But there’s one thing about this passage that stood out to me as I read it again. Yeshua was not anointed with ointment until the box of alabaster was broken! In the same way, we must be broken before the Lord so that His anointing can be poured out upon us to touch others!

We should never be ashamed to be broken. God will not deny a broken heart and a contrite spirit! When we humble ourselves in His sight and place our pride on the altar of sacrifice, it is then that God’s anointing will be greatest upon us. It will pour out of us like the ointment from that box — and we will be used greatly for His kingdom!

Let’s ask the Lord to break us where we need to be broken this week so that we might be anointed completely to do the great things He’s called us to do!

  3. I love this website …. it’s like coming on a pot of gold for an old guy like me.
Sometimes I wonder why I feel so blest and weep in my car as I listen to a worship tape……I guess it’s because Jesus is everything to me and though I lost my wife over a year ago I feel His presence moment by moment………He allowed me to be broken and gave me the grace to love men and women in their lostness…..I keep telling Him I love Him……He that winneth souls is wise…………..it’s not the tracts but as you have pointed out the wisdom is depending on the grace of God……….many who try to win souls without God’s knowhow end up by turning people off………sadly !

  4. This really says so much. I found this quotation. It reminds me that sometimes it takes “being broken” to bring out the beauty within. God wants to bring out the goodness within us! He is always there with us in the process. When we get caught up in the worldliness of it all and the nature of the events, we sometimes forget. Here’s the quote. Peace & Blessings!
