Tread and Receive His Promises!

As Joshua is about to enter the promised land, God reassures him and affirms the promise that was given to Moses, saying, “Wherever you place your feet ā€“ it shall be given to you!” God reveals His will, makes an amazing promise, then gives His servant a practical principle for working the promise out and claiming it, telling Joshua to literally step into His will. This is true for every believer. Our mandate is to know, understand and step out into the will of God. How can we know God’s will?”

In the midst of it all…

When Daniel was in the midst of the lion’s denā€¦God was with him. When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were in the midst of the fiery furnaceā€¦God was with them. It would have been perfectly easy for God to immediately transport these saints out of their difficulties, but no, He chose instead to be with them in the midst of their trials. God chose to reveal His power through the trials instead of exercising His power to remove them.

One of my favorite “hidden” lessons in the Pesach (Passover) celebration “Seder” meal is the mystery of the ā€œafikomen.ā€ This specially prepared meal– during which the participants are reminded of Israel’s supernatural deliverance from Egyptian slavery by the mighty hand of God– also includes 3 particular pieces of matzah, (unleavened bread). A story is told of Napoleon Bonaparte. As he was busy conquering Europe in the 1800’s during one of his military campaigns, Napoleon accidentally let the bridle of his horse slip while he was looking through some papers. The horse reared itself and the Emperor lost his balance. One corporal quickly leaped forward and caught the bridle just in the nick of time, bringing the horse under control and saving Napoleon from what might have been serious injury or even death. Napoleon saluted the corporal and said, “Thank you, Captain!” “Of what company, Sire?” asked the corporal. “Of my guards,” replied Napoleon.
