				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Joel 2:11-13 The Lord gives voice before His army, For His camp is very great; For strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; Who can endure it? &#034;Now, therefore,&#034; says the Lord, &#034;Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.&#034; So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm.</strong></p>
<p>In this prophetic passage the critical question is immediately followed by the powerfully convicting answer. Joel prophesies the Day of the Lord, and asks, &#034;Who can endure it?&#034; The next word &#034;therefore&#034;, is followed by the prophet&#039;s urgent counsel: &#034;Turn to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping and with mourning!&#034; Real repentance &#8212; not some superficial, wimpy, &#034;I&#039;m sorry God&#034;, but a deep, sorrowful, heart wrenching cry with fasting, that means business and recognizes the terrible danger ahead &#8212; is what is required.</p>
<p>I have to ask myself, how willing am I to enter into this depth of repentance in order to restore, or deepen my relationship with my Lord, or to cry out in identification with a dying world full of lost souls. Are my emotions and my soul willing to be passionately engaged with the grim reality in and around me? How does this affect my prayer life? or my attitude toward my sins? As I look at this world, I clearly see the Day of the Lord looming on the horizon. This prophecy may never be more applicable than it is now, in our very day.</p>
<p>Let&#039;s take a serious account of things, and allow ourselves to be truly, profoundly moved by what we find. If, as the Lord told us, those that mourn are blessed, then let&#039;s not shrink back from what we see in ourselves and in the world around us..&#034;There is a time to mourn&#034;&#8230;the Lord will be rejoicing. For He is seeking those who will recognize and deeply repent of their sin&#8230;and He longs to forgive and restore us.</p>

<p><strong>Micah 2:13 The breaker is goes up before them: they will break out, pass through the gate, and go out by it. So their king shall pass before them, with the LORD at their head.</strong></p>
<p>An ancient Hebrew commentator wrote of this verse, &#034;In the words of our teachers of blessed memory and in the Midrash [ancient Hebrew commentaries of the O.T.], it is taught that the &#039;breaker&#039; is Elijah and &#039;their King&#039; is the branch of the son of David.&#034;</p>
<p>As I read this commentary, I was blown away by the interpretation of this scripture by ancient Hebrew scholars! The Jewish people were clearly expecting a prophet like Elijah who would call the people back to repentance, and, afterward, the branch, the son of David, who would bring peace and freedom to his people. The fulfillment of these expectations began 2000 years ago with John the Baptist, whose prophetic ministry prepared the entire nation through repentance for the coming Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus), whose death and resurrection brought peace with God and freedom from sin, which laid the spiritual foundation for His coming Kingdom.</p>
<p>While the physical reign of the Messiah/King on Earth is yet future, and will begin when He returns, for the past 2000 years the Kingdom of heaven has been breaking forth in the hearts of men, and every true believer is breaking out with it. This wonderful message, &#034;Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand&#034;, hasn&#039;t changed since the Lord first proclaimed it in Galilee [Mark 1:14]!</p>
<p>The word &#034;repent&#034;, is &#034;metanoia&#034; in Greek, which means to &#034;change one&#039;s mind for the better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one&#039;s past sins.&#034;</p>
<p>The message of repentance remains central to the breaking forth of God&#039;s Kingdom! Through it Yeshua brought peace and freedom – and without it there can be no true faith or spiritual life; so let&#039;s stay focused, always remembering that this gospel of the Kingdom always begins with repentance from sin, continues in faith toward God, and results in freedom and peace. With so many who have still not heard it, let&#039;s proclaim it because there&#039;s so much work to be done!</p>

<p><strong>Luke 12:39-40 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man comes at an hour when you think not.</strong></p>
<p>Recently, I&#039;ve been studying the Jewish roots of many of Yeshua&#039;s (Jesus&#039;) parables, and I came across an interesting saying from a Jewish Rabbi that I believe has something to teach us.</p>
<p>Rabbi Eliezer said, &#034;Repent one day before your death.&#034; His disciples asked him, &#034;Does then one know what day he will die?&#034; &#034;Then all the more reason to repent today&#034;, he replied, &#034;lest he die tomorrow, and thus his whole life is spent in repentance.&#034;</p>
<p>When I first became a believer, I thought by simply dealing with my outward sins that I could live a state of sinlessness. But it wasn&#039;t long before the Lord began revealing and dealing with my inward sins and attitudes. Now, and the longer I walk with Him, I understand more and more the meaning of daily repentance!</p>
<p>If we truly want to be free and walk in His liberty, we cannot avoid this crucial requirement for freedom. Because we cannot receive His forgiveness without it, repentance must be a way of life for us [1 John 1:9].</p>
<p>Staying close to the Lord is His heart&#039;s desire for us&#8230;but one of the main conditions for it is walking in regular repentance. When we walk in humility and truthfulness about our sin &#8212; we are walking in the light, and the blood of Jesus keeps cleansing us from sin. In that condition we are so much more able to love the Lord and those around us &#8212; with Him, touching one life at a time. So, let&#039;s lay down our pride and turn to Him every day&#8230;.with genuine repentance!</p>

<p><strong>Psalms 51:10-12 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.  Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.  Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.</strong></p>
<p>David is called a “man after God’s own heart.” Considering that he lusted after his neighbor&#039;s wife, committed adultery with her, and had her husband murdered, the Lord&#039;s description of him is remarkable. How could a man who was convicted a murderer and an adulterer also be called one after God’s own heart?</p>
<p>The answer is simple but profound: God did not regard David according to the actions of his sinful nature, but according to the deepest motivations and disposition of his heart and will; and these were revealed by David&#039;s response to the conviction which Nathan the prophet brought upon him; a conviction which brought immediate total confession and repentance, and a broken and contrite heart. This response exemplified the shepherd king&#039;s walk with God throughout the entire journey of his life .</p>
<p>If, after David had fallen he made excuses, rationalized, or resisted the clear message of his sinfulness it would have been a totally different story. His heart would have revealed a self-justifying, self-righteous attitude with no realization of his absolute need for God&#039;s mercy. This would have defeated and defined him as a man after his own heart. But the immediacy and completeness of David&#039;s confession qualified him for the Lord&#039;s forgiveness and mercy, saving him from death and restoring him to that most treasured relationship of his life, his relationship with YHVH.</p>
<p>The consequences of his sin were very serious and followed David all the days of his life. But he demonstrated the genuineness of his repentance by never railing against God for the troubles which followed him as a consequence of his sin with Batsheva. David always rose up, submitted, and humbly praised God, writing wonderful psalms and pouring out his heart before the Lord. He served God and worshiped Him all his life. So the Lord God didn&#039;t reckon David’s life by his fall – but by his walk, and by his heart.</p>
<p>We all stumble in many ways, but God does not define us by our failures. It&#039;s our love for Him and our honesty before Him that reveals a true walk of faith! So if you fell, you messed up, your sin got the best of you, then come clean. Make your confession. Accept the consequences without complaining, allow the Lord to forgive and restore you completely, and continue on your journey with Him. That was David&#039;s heart. His example is worthy to follow. May you also be one of those that lived their life “after God’s own heart!”</p>

<p><strong>Isaiah 12:2-3 Behold, God is my salvation (Yeshua in Hebrew), I will trust and not be afraid; &#039;For the LORD JEHOVAH, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation (Yeshua). Therefore with joy you will draw water from the springs of salvation (Yeshua).</strong></p>
<p><strong>John 7:37-38 On the last day, the great day of the feast, Yeshua (Jesus) stood and cried out, saying, &#034;If any man thirsts, let him come to Me, and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, &#034;out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.&#034;</strong></p>

<p>Imagine the scene at the time of Yeshua&#039;s appearance. It is likely that in the midst of this ceremony, He stood up and proclaimed, &#034;If anyone is thirsty, let Him come to Me and drink.&#034; He who believes in Me as the Scripture said, &#034;from His innermost being shall flow rivers of living water.&#034;</p>
<p>This promise is true for us today. Our Messiah is the same yesterday, today and forever. He did not promise a sprinkling or a tiny stream. He promised rivers of living water. Claim this promise today &#8212; claim the fullness of life in Him. Draw from Him the peace that passes all understanding. Draw from Him pure love &#8212; agape love. Draw from Him the joy that makes the trees clap. Draw all that you need, but in order to draw from Him &#8212; you must go to Him. One cannot draw water from a spring unless one goes to the spring. Go to the spring that never runs dry &#8212; go to your spring of Yeshua!</p>

		<description><![CDATA[Tonight begins the Biblical feast of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) throughout the world!  Roughly 2500 years ago, there was a special Sukkot celebration in Jerusalem. The people of Israel were exiled and dispersed all across the Babylonian empire. Later, they were given the right to return and start construction on the 2nd temple of Israel. Nehemiah 8 speaks of the special celebration that happened at that time. We read how Ezra taught the people out of the book of the law and how they responded in weeping and repentance before the God of Israel.]]></description>
				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Nehemiah 8:9-10 And Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, &#034;This day is holy to the LORD your God; do not mourn nor weep.&#034; For all the people were weeping, when they heard the words of the Law. Then he said to them, &#034;Go your way, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.&#034; </strong></p>
<p>Last night began the Biblical feast of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) throughout the world!</p>
<p>Roughly 2500 years ago, there was a special Sukkot celebration in Jerusalem. The people of Israel were exiled and dispersed all across the Babylonian empire. Later, they were given the right to return and start construction on the 2nd temple of Israel. Nehemiah 8 speaks of the special celebration that happened at that time. We read how Ezra taught the people out of the book of the law and how they responded in weeping and repentance before the God of Israel.</p>
<p>Interestingly, Sukkot is a holiday in which the people were commanded to rejoice, yet they were weeping in repentance. And then, in verse 9, they did! Isn’t it true that joy always comes after the mourning?</p>
<p>The word for strength in Hebrew is ”mah-oz”. Not only does it mean strength, but it also means fortress and rock. When we commit our lives to walking in repentance and practicing holiness, then we will live in a constant state of joy. As the Apostle Paul said, Rejoice always! In our joy we find our fortress, our rock – the stability of our lives!</p>

<p><strong>Hebrews 9:11-12 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building. Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the Most Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.</strong></p>
<p>Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement is upon us. Beginning this evening, Yom Kippur marks the holiest of all holy days on the Hebrew calendar. It is the anniversary of the fall of man and it is the climax of the time of Teshuvah (repentance). Starting tonight night and into Wednesday, all around the world, the religious will fast from food and water and read prayers in the synagogue, as will the majority of traditional Jews.</p>
<p>Atonement means &#034;covering&#034;. On this day, according to the Scriptures, the High Priest would slay a goat and sprinkle its blood on the Ark of the Covenant so that the sins of the people might be cleansed and they could have favor in the sight of God. This act was clearly a foreshadowing of the covering that would come when Messiah would die for our sins, our perfect and innocent Lamb.</p>
<p>Today, there are no more sacrifices and no more Temple. Yet the religious are convinced that their sins will be atoned for by doing their best to keep the law and doing good works. Sadly, there is only one recipe for true atonement &#8212; trusting in the One of whom was prophesied long, long ago &#8212; Yeshua haMashiach, Jesus the Messiah. His blood has covered over all of us who believe so that our sins might be washed away, that we might have favor in the sight of God and that we might have our names inscribed in the Lamb&#039;s Book of Life.</p>

<p><strong>Revelation 4:10-11 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; For You have created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.</strong></p>
<p>Last week, we talked about &#034;tashlich&#034; &#8212; the traditional Jewish ceremony occurring between Rosh ha Shana and Yom Kippur, which involves casting bread crumbs into a river while confessing our sins and watching them be swept downstream. In this passage, however, we read about the importance of casting our crowns. These elders fell down before the Lord, casted their golden crowns and gave God the glory and honor He deserves. How much more should we do the same today?</p>
<p>Let&#039;s spend this season casting our crowns &#8212; giving back to God the praise and adoration He so deserves for all that He has given us. He offered His only Son for our atonement, that we could be washed clean and live eternally &#8212; and even abundantly. He loves us, though we daily fail Him and grieve His Spirit with our thoughts and actions. He helps us in our times of need and gives us revelation when we seek Him. Thank you Lord, for ALL Your blessings toward us &#8212; You are Good and Your mercy endures forever &#8212; hallelujah!</p>

<p><strong>Micah 7:18-19 Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and passes over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy. </strong>[in Hebrew mercy is the word "ch-sed" -- which has a much deeper meaning. <a href="http://www.worthydevotions.com/christian-devotional/ch-sed-meaning-in-hebrew">Click here to read an explanation of the richness of this word.</a>] <strong>He will turn again, He will have compassion on us, and He will subdue our iniquities. Yes, You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. </strong></p>
<p>One of the more beautiful ceremonies of the Jewish faith is called &#034;Tashlich&#034;. Tashlich means to cast away. <p>We as believers in Yeshua (Jesus), know that true forgiveness doesn&#039;t come by doing works, keeping traditions and taking part in beautiful ceremonies. Reconciliation with God comes by truly giving up our lives for His purposes and receiving atonement for our sin through Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah), as the Hebrew scriptures clearly show.</p>
<p>We all struggle with sin. Let&#039;s take this opportunity to tashlich it today! Cast it away! The Scripture says that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us, cleanse us from all unrighteousness and remove those sins as far as the east is from the west!</p>
<p>Let&#039;s not be burdened any longer with sin &#8212; confess it and be cleansed! The Lord is in the business of restoration &#8212; let&#039;s give Him our lives once again. And let’s pray for God to do a work among the Jewish people. That they would see the truth of their blessed Messiah! There’s so much work to be done!</p>

<p><strong>2 Peter 3:9-11 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,</strong></p>
<p>From Rosh HaShanah to Yom Kippur there are ten days. The Lord gave these days to Israel to prepare for His judgment. <p>With all that&#039;s happening in our world, events pointing to the soon coming judgment or &#034;Day of the Lord&#034; – we could easily call <em>these</em> days the &#034;<strong>Days of Awe</strong>&#034;. And in one way, these days are even more significant than the days of Eternity – simply because the days of Eternity do not determine our days on earth – but our days on earth do determine our days in Eternity! That is an &#034;awesome&#034; fact!</p>
<p>These days of awe impel and stimulate us to repent, to confess sins, and to refresh and renew our faith in Yeshua (Jesus). Let&#039;s take the opportunity of this season to restore our relationships with both God and man. The Lord is waiting for you, and there are human relationships too, that are waiting to be healed. So don&#039;t put it off because, after all, these are <strong>Days of Awe!</strong></p>

<p><strong>Genesis 22:7-13 And Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. Then he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide Himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and placed the wood in order, and he bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched out his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And He said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me. Then Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. <p><strong>Joel 2:1 Blow ye the trumpet (shofar in Hebrew) in Zion, and sound an alarm on My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD is coming, for it is near at hand;</strong></p>
<p>This Sunday night begins the feast of Rosh Ha Shannah, or Yom Teruah &#8212; the Feast of Trumpets. At the end of the summer the Hebrews are commanded to blow the shofar &#8212; the ram’s horn, all day long. The sound of the shofar was a sound of alarm &#8212; it told the people to get ready. It marked in the calendar that the summer harvest was over and the day of atonement was near and it was time to stand before God.</p>
<p>The feast of Trumpets is amazingly prophetic. Right now we are in the midst of the great harvest and the next major event is the sound of the trumpet &#8212; just before the great day of the Lord. Within the feast of trumpets contains a personal message for us. It’s God’s wake up call: We don’t have forever! We only walk through this life once &#8212; and as quickly as steam rises from hot water and quickly disappears, so it is with our lives. Soon it will be past and we will stand before our Maker. If we are going to do great things for Him &#8212; now is the time! If we need to repent for anything &#8212; now is the time. The Lord commands us to arise and shine and let our light shine throughout the world! The shofar is sounding, the summer harvest is nearing completion, and the day of the Lord is near.</p>
<p>Become God’s shofar, sound His warning of judgment and radiate the love He’s given us through His Son, that those around you will be able to stand pure before God!</p>

<p><strong>James 4:7-10 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be afflicted, and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.</strong></p>
<p>Why is it that some believers seem to go much deeper in their walk with God than others? I believe it has to do with a desire to pursue God and not to stop until they feel His very presence in their lives. These believers decide not to settle for anything less than a growing, vibrant relationship with God, and God honors that desire for those who seek it.</p>
<p>Much of our walk is determined by how we desire Him. In James, the Lord promises that if you draw near to Him &#8212; He will draw near to you. Our enemy, Satan, uses everything in his power to prevent that vibrant relationship from forming – but press through – press on – because God wants this relationship very much.</p>
<p>I want more! God&#039;s heart and mind are infinitely deep and there&#039;s nothing more precious than knowing Him better and better. So I&#039;m pushing through every obstacle to really show Him how much he means to me. Let&#039;s do it together.</p>

Acts 13:33-34 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.<br />
Romans 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:</strong></p>
<p>The central fact of the gospel message is the resurrection of Yeshua (Jesus), declared in Psalm 2, the begotten Son of God. In 1952, Dead Sea scrolls were discovered in Cave 4 called the &#034;Messianic Apocalypse&#034;. The Messiah&#039;s ministry of resurrection is reiterated in these ancient documents with an obvious reference to Isaiah 61:1-3. The scroll identifies someone who &#034;&#8230; will heal the wounded, and revive the dead and bring good news to the poor.&#034; It is clear that at least some of the authors of these documents clearly understood the central nature and ministry of the coming Messiah, most certainly based on their intimate knowledge of the prophetic writings in the Tenach (OT)&#8230;that ministry, resurrection of the dead.</p>
<p>This reality of the resurrection of Yeshua and His power to raise the dead cannot be overestimated. Death is the inevitable result of sin. Yeshua became sin, bearing all of it in His body, and then was raised from death to eternal immortal glory. This wonderful fact has proliferated throughout the world, the most important and powerful message ever delivered to mankind.</p>
<p>An illustration from our own time reveals the pervasive hope of Messiah&#039;s resurrection and victory over death. D.L. Moody the great 19th century revivalist was called on early in his ministry to deliver a funeral message. Searching the Gospels to find a funeral sermon given by Yeshua, he quickly discovered his search was in vain. Instead of ministering at funerals, Yeshua broke up every funeral he ever attended! Death could not exist where He was. And when the dead heard His voice they sprang to life, for He truly is &#034;the resurrection and the life.&#034;</p>
<p>Are you feeling dead and worn out today? Then be reminded that your Savior is Life and that He brings it abundantly <em> <strong>wherever He is</strong></em>, and that death is overcome in His Presence. So GET IN HIS PRESENCE! Repent, pray, worship, read, dance, delight, intercede, seek Him with all your heart and soul. His Life is waiting to refresh, restore, and revive you.</p>

<p>When Joseph became ruler over Egypt, his name was changed, and his identity was altered so that he no longer appeared or lived as a shepherd son of Israel from the land of Canaan, but as an Egyptian Prime Minister. The transformation was so thorough that when his ten brothers arrived in Egypt he was totally unrecognizable to them. This true story beautifully illustrates Mashiach ben Yosef (Yeshua/Jesus at His first coming), and contains a prophetic picture pointing to Yeshua and His Jewish people living today as we approach the Second Coming.</p>
<p>Several details elaborate this amazing parallel. After Joseph was rejected by his brothers and sent to Egypt, his life naturally began to develop in the nation of his exile, including the learning of its language and culture. Constantly proving his capacity, responsibility and leadership, Joseph was ultimately embraced by the Egyptians, exalted, and given an Egyptian bride (Asenath, daughter of the priest of On). In like manner the rejection of Yeshua by the Jews of His day resulted in His becoming a light to the Gentiles, who rightly accepted and exalted Him, so that in many ways He seemed to take on a Gentile identity and characteristics. As He betrothed Himself to this predominantly Gentile &#034;Church&#034; (with its Jewish roots), He ironically became virtually unrecognizable to His own Jewish people.</p>
<p>To illustrate further, Yeshua and His disciples had lived and worshiped according to the Biblical Jewish calendar: Shabbat, Passover, Shavuot, Sukkot, Feast of Dedication (Chanukah). The later Christian (largely Gentile) church instead adapted and transformed pagan festivals and used them in their worship calendar, changing the cultural expression of the Jewish Messiah and His original followers to a Gentile expression, and even proscribing the use of Jewish festivals in &#034;Christian&#034; worship. All the while, Yeshua&#039;s true nature and identity remained, even as Joseph&#039;s did.</p>
<p>But through these parallels we can begin to understand the portent of Joseph&#039;s experience with his brothers; weeping bitterly when he first recognized them; then, carefully arranging the circumstances which would bring them to repentance, and finally, removing the Egyptians, for the dramatic revelation of his true identity to his brothers, the sons of Jacob. Likewise, Yeshua, weeping over His Jewish brothers, finally gathers them back into the Promised Land, begins to arrange the circumstances which will bring them to repentance, so that finally at some final private revelation,&#034;they shall look upon Him whom they have pierced and mourn for Him&#034; in amazed gratitude. [Zechariah 12:10].</p>
<p>God, Himself, working behind the scenes, has allowed Satan to do his blinding work on Israel, for a season, while gathering the Gentiles into His fold. But this season is ending. The mystery of Israel&#039;s blindness is being broadly revealed, prompting the prayers of millions of Gentile believers, and their love for Yeshua and His Jewish brethren is making Israel jealous; so the veil is being removed from Jewish eyes, just as it was from Joseph&#039;s brothers.</p>
<p>And what is our part? To understand the times and seasons in which we live, to pray and labor for <strong><em>both</em></strong> the fullness of the Gentiles and the spiritual revival of Israel which will usher in the coming of Messiah and life from the dead! Through the story of Joseph and the prophetic revelation of both Testaments we know that all Israel will be saved, with the fullness of the Gentiles. Since much of the world is still blinded to Messiah, we need to make the most of every opportunity to open blind eyes, Jewish or Gentile.</p>
<p>Let us reveal Yeshua to the entire world, especially reaching those whom the Lord has placed in our lives. Every time Yeshua is truly revealed, another one of &#034;Joseph&#039;s brothers&#034; can weep with joy, gratitude and amazement, that a humble Suffering Servant is also a great and glorious King!</p>

<p>It was a stormy night in Birmingham, England, and Hudson Taylor was to speak at a meeting at the Severn Street schoolroom. His hostess assured him that nobody would attend on such a stormy night, but Taylor insisted on going. &#034;I must go even if there is no one but the doorkeeper.&#034; Less than a dozen people showed up, but the meeting was marked with unusual spiritual power. Half of those present either became missionaries or gave their children as missionaries; and the rest were faithful supporters of the China Inland Mission for years to come. Hudson Taylor was going to be faithful to speak even if it was to only one person. Today, God may be calling you to speak to that one person.</p>
<p>D.L. Moody once said: “God has called us to shine, just as much as Daniel was sent into Babylon to shine. Let no one say that he cannot shine because he has not so much influence as some others may have. What God wants you to do is to use the influence you have. Daniel probably did not have much influence down in Babylon at first, but God soon gave him more because he was faithful and used what he had.&#034;</p>
<p>God is looking for those who are willing to be faithful! He wants to use us in ways we could never or would never have imagined – but in order for that to transpire we need to be faithful in the little things and we need to be available when He calls!</p>

<p><strong>Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.</strong></p>
<p>&#034;Break up your fallow ground.&#034; &#034;Fallow&#034; means &#034;hard&#034;. A hard heart cannot love; and often cannot even receive it. A hard heart will block relationship with God and with others. Whatever the cause; anger, woundedness, bitterness, unforgiveness, the result will be a superficiality in relationship, an inability to empathize, and a corruption of your motivations. You will become manipulative, deceitful, proud, and unresponsive. God&#039;s message, His word to you will be difficult to hear and you will resist it. Like a layer of rock under shallow soil, where the rain cannot penetrate, love and truth will fail to penetrate your heart and affect your actions. Thus, a hard heart is deadly, because sin is petrified there, and the wages of sin is death.</p>
<p>How do you break up fallow ground? How do you change a hardened heart? You start with your will. You make a choice. You decide. Your decision is to soften, in spite of the way you feel, the things you remember, or have chosen to forget. Your decision is called &#034;repentance&#034;, a changing of the mind, a turning of the will, in the opposite direction. The power of the will to repent is astounding because it opens the door for God to heal and transform your heart; to rain His love upon you and remove bitterness, unforgiveness, anger, and hatred or any other sin that is hardening your heart. Do you want to love? Do you want to be loved? But your heart is hard? Try repentance. Test God&#039;s power and will to heal and change you. But you must be willing to mourn. &#034; Blessed are them that mourn.&#034; Repentance will open you to the rain of tears so that the pain and bitterness can pour out of you. But you will be amazed at what happens with your relationships. Love will enter and remain in your life; God&#039;s love and love with others too.</p>
<p>Millions have tried it; repentance works. Make it a lifestyle, and you will live and walk in love.</p>

<p><strong>Jonah 3:4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day&#039;s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.</strong></p>
<p>When the prophet Jonah entered Nineveh, he gave a message of hopelessness &#8211;<strong> in 40 days your city will be destroyed!</strong> He did not say, Nineveh will be destroyed &#034;<strong>unless</strong>&#034;, but emphatically prophesied destruction to the people of the city &#8212; seeming to say their situation was hopeless. Yet hearing this message Nineveh repented, and because their repentance was genuine God spared the city for a season and many lives were saved. Jonah&#039;s prophecy of judgment was averted, and Nineveh&#039;s destiny was changed by their response to the deep conviction from a message of doom. That&#039;s how it is with God. He is so compassionate, so longing to forgive and restore people to Himself, that He seems to &#034;change His mind&#034; showing how His mercy triumphs over judgment.</p>
<p>Is there a &#034;prophecy of doom&#034; over your life? Are your sins piled so high that God&#039;s judgment seems irrevocable and imminent? Don&#039;t despair &#8230; <strong>repent!</strong> With our compassionate God there is hope even when it seems all is lost. You may have wandered very far from Him &#8212; but if Nineveh, a pagan city, hardened and ripe for judgment and &#034;hopelessly&#034; heading toward destruction, could be saved &#8212; shouldn&#039;t you also have hope if you turn back to the Lord? Don&#039;t give up – with Yeshua (Jesus) there is always hope!</p>

<p><strong>Psalms 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.</strong></p>
<p>Throughout the United States today, everyone will be celebrating the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence &#8212; a document through which leaders of the colonies in the New World broke free from the King of England.</p>
<p>The declaration begins: &#034;We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that <strong>they are endowed by their Creator</strong> with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.&#034;</p>
<p>While revisionist historians are working hard to remove any trace of Christian/Biblical ideals from the foundations of America, today&#039;s celebration finds its basis in a foundational document which appeals to the authority of a Divine Creator, one whom most of the founding fathers fully believed to have been the author and main subject of the Holy Bible, and who was the guarantor of certain &#034;inalienable rights&#034;. So the Fourth of July – more than just a celebration of independence, ought also to be a day which recognizes God&#039;s participation in the nation&#039;s birth.</p>
<p>I&#039;ve read and heard all kinds of advice about how America ought to be transformed, while a simple recognition of God&#039;s covenant offer to a nation goes ignored. The words found in 2 Chronicles 7:14 could be claimed and applied to any nation, but particularly one whose foundational documents and institutions have drawn their inspiration substantially from Biblical monotheism. &#034;<strong>If</strong> my people, which are called by my name, <em>shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways</em>; <strong>then will I hear from heaven</strong>, <em>and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.</em>&#034;</p>
<p><strong>IF</strong> we truly want to see healing brought to any nation, then this conditional covenant is for <strong>US</strong> and the restoration of our land will require our part in the covenant: humility, prayer and repentance, so that God can forgive our sin and heal our land!</p>
<p>True restoration and healing only comes through true repentance and God&#039;s grace! With so much work to be done &#8212; may restoration begin with us!</p>

<p><strong>Matthew 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.</strong></p>
<p>Years ago, I heard an anointed missionary and personal friend speaking on the consequences of sin. He told a story about a pair of brothers he knew quite well.</p>
<p>In his teenage years, the older brother went through a time of rebellion against his Christian upbringing. He went to a few parties, drank a little alcahol, tried a few drugs and quickly felt convicted of his behavior and repented before the Lord. While it was only a short few weeks of rebellion, it made a real impression on his younger brother. You see, he was looking up to his big brother. And in those few months of watching him rebel, he decided that trying out a worldly thing or two himself was okay to do.</p>
<p>The older brother readily overcame that time of rebellion. He went on to Christian college and grew to be a wonderful man of God. He traveled all over the world teaching, reviving and leading many to the Lord.</p>
<p>As he came to this part of the story, my anointed missionary friend began to quiver.</p>
<p>&#034;That older brother was me,&#034; he said, tears rolling down his cheeks. And my younger brother, he whimpered, is dying of drug addiction today&#8230;and it all started during my time of rebellion.&#034;</p>
<p>&#034;I would give just about anything to take back that few weeks of backsliding just to see my little brother living for the Lord today, but I can&#039;t. I can only pray that you who are listening today will realize that the consequences of sin are no joke&#034;.</p>
<p>What a painful example of the consequences of sin. We never know who&#039;s watching and how they may be affected by our actions.</p>
<p>The job we have as Christians is no small one &#8212; whether you realize it or not, there are so many who are observing our lives to see where our faith will lead us. There are many who are hungry for Him and so much work to be done! Let&#039;s strive to get serious about God and influence many for Him!</p>
